Installation error, missing file

So I started updating my computers to 4.8.938. One of the older machines, which had been running 4.8.5 errors out with the message that it cant find the file:
api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll

I'm using the same install directory that I used for three other machines.

Any ideas?

That's a system library that, for some reason, is not present on some folk's system. I'm wondering if maybe some of you have some different version of one of the (very few) Windows libraries that we use and it uses this file or something.

Anyhoo, see this discussion thread. There are links there to the MS runtime library installers that will give you this missing file. Use the appropriate one for the Windows version (32 or 64 bit):

If you are Windows7 you may have to get all the latest updates before it will install.
