although if we have non-alarm zones, that would mess that up. IE, I have 4 non-alarm zones and many more alarm zones. (driveway gate, closet door, doggy door, patio gate)

That would be great on both parts. I have one non-alarm which is the garage door and I have a visual button for that.

That is true also. It does know the zone types, but it couldn't know which types you want it to count.

wow, that was easy. made my logic fields with the On Counter, then summed my counter fields. exactly what i was looking for in a grand total of 6 minutes.

You only created one On Counter field, right? One of those counts up all of its source fields. It kind of sounded like, from what you wrote, that you created one of them per source field or something.

i have 3 On Counter fields since i have so many lights and 1 Math field. im counting with the counters and summing the totals with the math field.
and now i have a my calculation for zones that are not secure.
