When I invoke a command, the Elk trigger works, but when doing it at keypad, doesnt
#1
Im having a strange issue with the ELK V2 driver. I set a triggered rule that when Elk.SEC#Area_Main_ArmMode = Stay, then turn off X lights.

When I invoke the command to set it to Stay mode, it works and the lights shut off.
However, when I use the Elk keyapd to manually enable stay mode it doesnt work. Any ideas?

Here is the when I do it by the keypad (armed away, stay and then disarmed):
Code:

did you set CQC to send trigger on any field change?

In field browser I set on that field by trigger to send trigger for any value change.

Have you enabled the Elk to send out notifications? There are a set of 'global flags' or some such in the Elk that have to be enabled for the Elk to send out notifications of such changes. You definitely need those on or the driver will get out of sync.

I don't remember if I updated those settings (I first got it working two years ago), but I do see the status changing in the field browser when I activate the alarm using the keypad.

Thank you

If you open the CQC Command Prompt and run

CQCEventDump

then arm and disarm via the keypad, do you see a trigger show up in the dump output?

Yes the data was showing up there. so I took a step back and deleted the triggers and re-entered everything and now it is working. Very strange why it worked one way and not the other. The one thing I can think of is that with the Elk, when you first actiavte it, it goes to Away and you can then press stay. Maybe, I switched too fast from one to the other and that may have gotten CQC confused even though it was updating properly.

I am using by the even trigger: "Is New Fld Value For" is that the best one?

That's reasonable, since you are interested in getting any value of the field.
