Trouble getting CQC working with ISY Z Wave

You have to do trace off before it'll write the file.

I'm not sure the Trace event is starting. I type it in the box, click on Set, it disappears and nothing visible happens. The Value remains blank. I may be missing a step.

It's a write only field, so it doesn't really have a value. It's just used to send commands to the driver. If you don't send it something value, it will complain, so if it accepted the value, that should be correct. You do need to stop the trace again before the fill will be available.

No txt file.

Here's what I'm doing:

Click on: Change Field
Type in: EnableTrace : Yes
Click on: Set
Force rescan using "Rescan" button below Defined Units screen
Turn Cooper Aspire device on and off
Repeat with additional device
Click on: Change Field
Type in: EnableTrace : No
Click on: Set
Close box
Check file location: No change, no txt file

Sadly, enough is enough. I'm ready to give up on the Cooper Aspire wall socket driver. I now have my Z-Wave operating with two different controllers, the VRC0P runs the lighting, and the IZY runs the wall sockets. Works fine. I actually prefer the simpler approach of the IZY interface to the VRC0P.

I've spent literally days and several hundred dollars moving off of RFIT, and thanks to JKMonroe's suggestion of looking at Cooper, I found a controller that works well, the best I've worked with yet and I'm happy with it.

Now, it's time for me to get back to tending to my business. I can only ignore it so long, and this is the last day for doing that. I know when I'm beaten and it's time to give up and live with what I have.

My system is working well, I don't need to have the Cooper socket devices in the VRC0P, they're fine with the ISY.

So, my next challenge will be in figuring out how CQC is going to interface with Hunter Douglas' new motorized system that is selling like crazy. Fortunately, it now runs from a hub (what doesn't), and I have the serial commands from Hunter, and will shortly have the IP commands. I have no idea what either one will actually do in controlling the shades.

Try opening a command line prompt as admin and navigate to that location. If you are using the GUI, it may be redirecting you to a per-user ghost location, which is sometimes done.

Oh, wait, you aren't hitting Rescan and then immediately doing the other operations are you? It will take some time to complete. When it does, it should reload the modules list, pushing the selection back to the top of the list. It can take some time to run the scan, and the file won't show up until it's done, and the other commands may have been ignored if it was off doing that.
