all of my media is h.264/AC3/AAC and i can run between mkv and mp4 in seconds; literally 60s for a 1.5hr movie, 30s for a TV episode. reason? the Roku will sometimes get hung up on MKV and simply changing the container fixes it.

what roku channel are you using for playback? Plex or other?
