I'm using 4 Dell Venue 8 Pro tablets for my in-room controls. I haven't found an elegant way to wall mount them though. They just currently use a case as a stand and are all plugged in using their USB power adapter.

the nite-ize work well for my little 7" tablets.
the leviton recessed power outlet + right angle usb adapter for power and the nite-ize makes a nice setup that can be portable.
you could also buy their 'pedestal' kit and fasten it on a kitchen counter or somewhere. i've been thinking about doing that for the basement.

So is that Nit-ize thingie the magnetic one? I jut can't seem to get around the fact that a magnet strong enough to really securely hold something like that doesn't do something bad, though they claim not.

Yeah, it's that magnet thing. Magnets wont affect SSD or LCD tech, so it's perfectly safe to use in those devices.
The little tablets I have aren't very heavy, so they work really well.

Here's an interesting and inexpensive one that would be good for counter slash end table type scenarios. It was posted over on Cocoontech, so I checked it out.

It comes with Windows 8.1 but will of course upgrade to Windows 10 once you get it set up. Looks like it would make a pretty nice little IV machine.
