if you rename your computer, it seems you have to "upgrade" CQC.
But... when you do that, a bunch of cqc processes aren't stopped requiring the use of task manager to look and kill all cqc processes.

Yeh, I can see how that might happen. The installer uses its previous settings unless you do a fully custom install. So it would still have the old name of the server, and so would fail to contact the services since the host name it has wouldn't resolve correctly anymore. And the app shell service is going to try to connect to the controlled processes using the configured host name as well, and that would also fail, so it wouldn't get the programs shut down.
I'm not sure how best to deal with that. Well, I guess the app shell can just always use localhost instead of the configured server name, since the server programs should be on the same machine. But, if there's no local loopback support installed, that would fail as well, and some folks may disable them.
