Wireless Tags? MyTagList.com?
#1
Anyone using any of these tags? http://mytaglist.com/

I'm very tempted to get a number of them. Any chance there is an existing CQC driver?

Looks like a good solution.

Can you speak the API directly to the tag manager[1], or do you have to go to the cloud?

Here is the API page [2]

The docs imply semi-local:

Quote:We will host the above API at yourdomain.com and redirect your specified tag managers to there. The redirection only happens once at Tag Manager power on, after then all communication between the Tag Manager hardware and your server occur without going through mytaglist.com. You can choose any available Windows Server hosting providers, such as AWS and Rackspace.

So it looks like it talks to their server once, gets the target for redirection, then goes straight to that target. The real issue I guess is, will it accept a local, non-routable address for the target?

Oops, I missed this part:

Quote:
  • One-time setup cost: $499
  • Maintenance plan: $99/month + any Windows Server hosting charge we pay on your behalf.

They are assuming any custom handler of that sort is for commercial purposes, i.e. a company providing this service to customers, not a customer providing it for only himself.

I bought a 5-pack of tags and the Ethernet gateway. I'll update once I get it setup (hopefully arriving this week) on using it locally and possibly HTTP access to it.

these have been on my list to research for a long time. they have an IFTTT channel, and from my reading of the internets it appears there *might* be a local API similar to Hue on the tag bridge.

please keep us updated.

Post office shows they were delivered today. Hopefully I can find some time tomorrow or this weekend to play around with them and report back.

Apparently I don't Smile Just got home from dinner with friends and had to set it up. Here is the set of actions on which the local device can call to a URL.
