I picked up one of these cheap last week used on Amazon to try out as a super low wattage system to run 24/7 as a CQC server. Specs below. This is pretty snappy running CQC. I have XBMC on it with a USB UIRT for control purposes. It has 3 USB ports so I hooked up a USB 2.0 NAS to it to pull BluRays from (PCM through HDMI to my amp). No hiccups in audio or video (Intel HD grahpics). Slick little box. Also have MyMovies installed so it has the video library and driver installed there. Will be piling on more drivers as time goes on.
So far, so good. I chose this over the Intel Compute Stick due to the wired LAN and multiple USB ports. It has the same CPU and integrated graphics. Both have preinstalled Win 8.1 so performance-wise a wash. These would be great as a behind the TV installation with VESA bracket included.

I love the tiny PCs... I have an i3NUC that CQC runs on, and then another i3NUC for my media server running on Openelec/Kodi. They both do excellent jobs at what they are there for, plus run silent and draw very little electricity.

My HT equipment I want to control by CQC (some day hopefully)
Yamaha CX-A5100, Dune HD pro 4k, Dune HD Pro 4k plus, ISY 994i, LG 86" 4k FP, and a projector in the future

Yep. My last position in my company (before I retired) was in sustainability. Like these new low power (wattage-wise) systems. I have another big quad core rig running my Flexraid (20 bay system). That sucks up the juice, but I have that in sleep mode when not in use. Run XBMC (KODI) from that box. I may have to retire my WHS 2011 box soon due to lack of support coming.

I just upgraded my UnRaid NAS from an Atom to a i7 so I can run my DVR off of it too.
I used to have a big power sucking HTPC until last year when I moved to the NUCs, and NAS.

I use a Gigabyte Brix (iNuc) i7 as IV and media in my car. Works a charm!Running everything music, VPN, IV/CQC, 7" screen, big SSD,WAN, GPS.. the whole thing pulls 1.2 amps at 12 volts.

Never thought about using one for a car setup... Great idea!
