When I tried an Izzy a couple of months ago to control some X-10 dimmers, I was never able to connect to the Izzy. I reached the Izzy, but it didn't talk back.
Do I remember it was determined later than the driver had a glitch in it that caused this issue? Would it be safe for me to order another Izzy? I don't want to return another item to Amazon for a while, they'll refuse to sell to me pretty soon.
I'm still trying to figure out a way to have CQC run my X-10 dimmers. I tried having CQC send an IR command to Elve and let Elve do the lifting, but the delay is nasty, about 4 seconds to make the trip so I'm thinking this isn't worth pursuing. If I had a better way for CQC to talk to Elve, a speedup with maybe make it workable.
I would change to Z-Wave switches, but the house is older and the 3 way wiring questionable in configuration. One traveler wire even changes color from one end to the other meaning it's spliced in the wall. Bad.
