August Smart Lock
#1
I think most of us know what this is ...

http://www.august.com

but they released this guy at CES ...

I figure this will solve just about all of the lock problems, so I would definitely recommend that Dean explore how to get it connected. I will be ordering the lock, and placing a pre-order for the connect.

Shipping mid-Feb.

I am still Leary of how secure a door lock is with Bluetooth or WiFi.

no less secure than me kicking the door in with my boot?

i see the arguments all over the place -- no one is going to 'hack' a smart lock when they can use the rock in your planter to smash a window. im not sure where everyone got the idea that the crackhead on the corner can hack locks with the computer that he didn't hock for a fix.

just because something is possible doesn't mean that its plausible.

//sorry for my little rant, but this one bugs me.

No problem... We purchased a keypad lock for our pond area and i am just getting used to having that... Bluetooth is a big step for me to overcome in security. I agree you can just bust a window and be done.
