How to disable the Sonos transmitters
#1
I ran across this today and figured I'd post it here. If you are using any Sonos boxes wired, or all of them, and would like to disable the radio, you can send this command:

x.x.x.x:1400/wifictrl?wifi=persist-off

Where of course x.x.x.x is the IP address of the target box. This will turn it off and persist that change, requiring a hard reset to get it to come back on.

Excellent!. Thanks!

That led me to google and I found this:
https://bsteiner.info/articles/disabling-sonos-wifi

which includes a way to *temporarily* disable the wifi (in case you want to test it out first)

Also talks about power savings (2w) and related tools via port 1400.
