Does anyone know of a physical remote control, similar to the old Harmony 1000, that might be able to run a CQC IV?
Or if the old Harmony 1000 is hackable to run android or something?
Anything at all along those lines?

I'm guessing you're looking for something like a gyro presentation mouse. I've used one in the past.

Wouldn't it be nice if we could get a RIVA app running on the Harmony ultimate.

This is sort of what I was thinking.
I could always display the IV on the TV and use an air mouse, though. That's a neat idea. I also thought about the droid tablets with IR, but they dont have physical buttons and we would still need the typical vol+/- chan+/-, mute, etc...
But my shangri-la would be a Harmony 1100 that could run RIVA on the touch interface.

You know what they should make? A silicon cover for a tablet that maybe covers over the side edges of the screen by about about an inch and a half with those little pads so you have a basic physical buttons near where your thumbs would press anyway.

Yep. I was thinking about seeing if there was a 3D lab around I could learn and just try and make my own.

The HTML 5 based client that we think will be the primary component of V5 might have more chance of running on these smaller types of devices I guess.

Shit, that would be awesome! If you go HTML 5, then I assume it would be platform independent?
I'm sure something could be hacked together with a RaspPi. Or one of these:

In theory it would be. Initially it would likely be something driven by V2 room config, since making a customizable one will be too hard for the first time out the door. Though of course the customization capabilities of the room config system will continue to increase as well.
