We have replaced our old Silverlight based web site with a new HTML5 based site. Silverlight wasn't available on some platforms and some folks didn't want to use it. Though it is technically superior in many ways to HTML5, practicality had to win out and we have re-worked it in HTML5.
You will need a pretty recent browser version in order to insure that all of the features work correctly, but most everyone would already be on such a version for many other sites besides ours anyway. So you aren't likely to have any problems.
The Silverlight and the old HTML sites will be retired now, and hopefully we can get everyone back into one big, happy, HTML5 family.
