Question: ID based on MAC address?
#1
Random question ... is it possible to have CQC ID a person based on the MAC address of their phone reconnecting to the wireless network? Maybe a driver, or a workaround of some variety? A continual ping of some sort, or SNMP?

At least at my place, I use the MAC address to bind a particular IP, so I could (theoretically) ID myself or my wife based on whose phone connects to wifi. Reminiscent of the old RFID tags that were pretty much useless. Smile

It could detect occupancy, run actions on arrival, etc ...

Thoughts?

There is a network presence driver, which will send out presence events based on things entering or exiting the network, based on ping.
