I am trying to do a basic light switch... on/off. It appears that I must do a if then else but I don't know how to do that anymore. Can someone please give me a visual smapshot of the screen showing what goes where?

Generally a check box widget will be used and it will handle that for you. You get one action invoked if the light is currently off and one if it's on, so you can just write the opposite value to the light in each one.

The switches you made worked... But you had one for off and another for on.
I made new ones and they only display status.
What am I doing wrong?

The ones on the auto-generated stuff indeed are two separate buttons, so that it didn't have to assume readability of the field.
Watch the tutorial video on Checkboxes and it will show you how to set up such things.

Man, talk about having to relearn how to walk! I guess that is what happens when you don't have to program your system for a while. All that knowledge disappeared.
Brian - a long time user that rarely messes with the system now
Other systems used:
SageTV w/ cablecard tuner & multiple extenders for viewing
BlueIris and IP cameras for CCTV
Incredible PBX for home phone

Yeah it's been at least 3 years since I did anything in CQC... I didn't even have it installed until recently... And so much has changed since I used it last. I still have a lot of my old template packs but they are useless with CQC now since they were on the old CQC.
