Hi Dean,
Im guessing this isnt possible because i tried it and it gave me an error.
Is there anyway I can go back one from say 907 to 906?

No, you'd have to restore the backup of 906 and run the 906 installer again to get it back happy.

Doesn't CQC make a backup in the SaveInst dir?

i looked in that folder, wuench, and there are definately files dated the same day as my previous install.
i cant risk screwing up my system though, so hopefully dean will chime in here. i really need to get back to 906.

It does copy the old install there each time you do an install. It's not intended to be used as a backup, but just a way to back out if the install goes bad, but in a pinch it will do. Save your whole directory away first just in case. Then remove CQCData and Bin and the Info file, and move the saved stuff up a layer to replace them. Then run the 906 installer.
Definitely use the backup though in the future since if you had run the installer again, you'd have lost the 906 install (presumably you only ran it once to upgrade, right?)

im not sure, dean. i actually had to run the installer twice on the 906 because for whatever reason, perhaps i ran and even older version accidently, it didnt work the first time.
does that fact necessitate that i use caution performing the "emergency" procedure you described above?

Most likely then nothing happening the first time and you still have the 906 there. Otherwise, you'll be back at 907 still since it'll be a saved 907. But probably it's 906 in that case. Just save away your whole directory first either way, just in case.

Thanks to both of you, Wuench and Dean, for your help there. That worked and worked perfectly.
I learned something new.
