OK, this updated GC-IRE driver is in 4.4.900. You may or may not want to upgrade to it for other reasons (read the comments in the beta release thread), but this guy should work now. I did some testing and it was quite reliable for me from across the room, even if the training was done up close.

Anybody give this new version a try yet? It's also available in a patched 4.4.0 version so you don't have to upgrade to the betas to try it.
