Hi all,
Does anyone have a suggestion as to the hardware and software that I should get for good serial port over IP functionality?
Thanks!
Best regards,

I have one GC100. What software do you use with it?
I have two more rs232 AV units throughout the house. Does an iTach work properly with CQC? How about HW group products?

the itach is fundamentally the same unit inside so should be fine.
I cant find a link to the CPR software on the GC site - can you post the link?
I have used a utility from Kramer before that appears to work well. The used to use the older version of the CPR but when Lantronix removed the raw feature they had to create their own. it is about the only free option I could find. GC should really create their own and offer it since the software they are offering os most likely deprecated.
Don'ttry the latest version from Lantronix as it does not support raw mode any more. The older version (V3.x I think) does and is hard to find now.

I think the lantronix software only works with their own products nowadays. I have an alternative but forgot the name, will post it later!

the lantronix software used to work perfectly fine for me... or so I thoght at the time... ended up is was causing all sorts of BSOD and reboots that I would blame on BeyondTV and later sage... also the old lantronix did not appear to be very compatible with win7...
anyway, somehow or another I stumbled upon
VSPE from Eterlogic free for 32 bit windows, $25 for 64bit...
seems to work really well, and serial to IP is just one of many cool things it can do with serial... it can route/split/mirror/etc... in theory it could be useful for troubleshooting/etc...
NOTE: As one wise professional something once stated, I am ignorant & childish, with a mindset comparable to 9/11 troofers and wackjob conspiracy theorists. so don't take anything I say as advice...

Yeah that's the one! And I am on 32 bit

It is a bit, ummm, strange to set up, but once you understand the way it's done, it does not take much time at all.
