native scroll for android client
#11
this way you can get better navigation and better user experience. Currently going through media list or other filedlist type object is very inefficient.

Could the RIVA protocol implement a page break of sorts to be used with a flicking gesture.

Ie, if my screen resolution is 800x480, but my template is 2400x480, and rather than manually scrolling the IV across the 3 page-wide template, I create a page break widget on the template. Then when I flick the RIVA screen, the client can scroll the screen across, but then knows to hit the brakes when pixel column 801 hits the left of the screen. Another flick, and it scrolls and stops when 1601 is at the left of screen.

The page break could be either implemented as a container widget of sorts, that is a rectangle the size of the target display or maybe either a 1-pixel horizontal or vertical line at the stop points.

I don't think the IE has any concept of RIVA, so it seems like it might be better if the client implemented it as an option to scroll a screen width/height at a time or "free" scrolling.

This functionality doesn't need to be solely for RIVA. You could potentially extend it out to the standard IV too for windows-based IV touchscreen. And if combined with nav commands (scroll left/right/up/down) could also be used in a 10ft display via remote control.

I think that's what is done on the iOS version.
