GoogleTV Anymote Protocol
It looks like this is the first place to look when thinking about writing a driver to control the GoogleTV devices:

They also provide Java source for a reference implementation.
I just scanned through that, but it kind of sounds like maybe they made that about ten times more complicated than it really needed to. But I could be just misreading it given my fairly quick scan. Any time you look at a device protocol document and it references three or four third party or separate technologies or standards that are required, it's probably not a good sign.

Any SageTV code hidden in there? ;-)

I'm still depressed about that one....
Brian - a long time user that rarely messes with the system now
Other systems used:
SageTV w/ cablecard tuner & multiple extenders for viewing
BlueIris and IP cameras for CCTV
Incredible PBX for home phone
There was a GoogleTV "hangout" video posted to youtube on Nov 13.

Transcript is here:

In answer to a question about Sagetv:

"At this point, I cannot comment on how Google is going to use the technology acquired from Sage on any of the platforms including Google TV. "
