the Power Line Modem by its self is kind of crap... I never had good luck with it...

but anyway, you only need to watch the first couple before you should be good to go...

do you have the driver setup correctly? I think I remember the PLM driver needing a text file that lists you switches and their insteon addresses...
yea, my memory was right, they call them configuration files, see here:
http://www.charmedquark.com/Web2/ExtCont...eonPLM.htm
are those setup and correct?
if they are, then you will have driver fields... open up the Browse Drivers & Fields thingy in the admin interface and select your insteon driver (although Dean calls it "devices" here... not very consistent naming on his part)
pick a field that corresponds to the light you want to play with and change the value... simple really... assuming that worked you can now start building scheduled events, or create a template that does something with the lights as an action, etc...

edit... too late for the never mind....

SomeWhatLost,

Thanks for the reply. What would you suggest as a replacement for the Power Line Modem? I'm open to anything that will make this whole thing easier.

Thanks

I don't think I ever got my keypadlincs to work right with just the PLM... well at least not the way I thought they should work...

I went with the ISY99 and couldn't be happier...
actually I would go so far to say that if you are seriously considering any real 'build out' with insteon (ie anything with more than just a couple of lamplinc's) the ISY is a must have piece of equipment... the isy will still need your PLM though... it just has all the 'brains' to handle linking and scenes and stuff...
basically the ISY does all the 'low' level crap/heavy lifting, and CQC handles the high level triggering of scenes/etc...

the ISY is kind of pricey, but if you are doing anything beyond just one or two lights with insteon it is a necessity...

also, the CQC ISY driver works most excellently...
