The protocol does depend on pretty fine timing of twiddling control lines to talk to the device. So if it's a serial server you are using, it might not be handling the control lines right or something, or not chaning them fast enough maybe.

I did try hooking it up the the GC100 serial port, but the led was really dim... not sure the GC100 can supply it with enough power...
but I also tried hooking it up to an unused (ie never before used) serial port on my Master Server... that seemed to power it ok... but still no com... not even with just using their comfinder program...
NOTE: As one wise professional something once stated, I am ignorant & childish, with a mindset comparable to 9/11 troofers and wackjob conspiracy theorists. so don't take anything I say as advice...

ok, so I installed a 4 port serial card I had laying around...
doesn't work with that either just using their comport finder program...
??? I am running out of ideas here... it sure seems like the ira-3's don't like win7 64bit...
has anyone successfully used a ira-3 on win7 64?
