Java based RIVA Client?

They didn't embed a java version. The recompiled the java version into javascript. They did rely on some external components because, for one, there is no OpenGL support in HTML5, but it is on the table for future versions. HTML5 relies heavily on scripting, you have to think of it more as flash than as HTML, it's event driven.


If anything this actually gives us some hints on how to port RIVA. All the 2D instructions are native to HTML5 which is all RIVA needs. They used WebSockets to handle the network communication which would cover that piece. Not sure about any multi-threading requirements.
