Can a CAB command button overlay the CAB?

I'm looking to have the left and right buttons overlay the CAB. Is there a way to do this? I've tried messing the z order, and moving things front and back but the button always shows behind the CAB, is there a way to move it in the front?

Because of the special display needs of the CAB, this may cause problems. The CAB, when it does the fancy display effects like fade in and shuffle, has to redraw itself over and over to create those displays. It does this by drawing the content behind it into a memory buffer, then repeatedly blitting the cover art images over that stored image and displaying it. So it wouldn't include the buttons that overlay it.

But it would seem the simplest thing is just make the cab exactly fit the images it holds, and just butt the buttons up against it, but not actually overlapping.
