Possible Nuvo Essentia For Sale

I might have a extra Nuvo Essentia for sale..

A little backgroud
I bought one on ebay a few weeks back. I was having issue with it so sent it out to Nuvo to get checked out. Nuvo found a problem with one of the zone cards and replaced the card. The unit is coming back from Nuvo today and it is going right in my rack.

While the unit was in transit to Nuvo the seller saw my email that I was having problems and decided to send me another one. (he didnt ask for any despoit due to my 6000 feedback). This second replacement unit from the seller is coming early next week.

So it sounds lke by Tuesday I will have two Nuvo essentias. I was going to send the second one back but was wondering if anyone here would have an interest.

I paid a little under $500 for it and I am assuming I could buy this second one from the seller for the same price. I would just want to cover what I need to pay him...

Of course in light of the bad card in first one I will check it out. but I will say that the first looked brand new. Most electronics very quickly get dust inside. This one was clean as a whistle..

This would be an essentia with no keypads which will be fine if you want to control via CQC.

I wouldn't be surprised if I bought 100-150 things but 99.9% of those feedbacks are from selling.

yeah, turns out i dont' need that damn Cat5 - KVM extender that I got off eBay 2 months ago now that I have the thinclient, but I can't bring myself to sell it.

My whole life is "hold onto everything on the off chance you'll use it later", and at least when it comes to PC parts, it had paid of pretty well.

To who asked above - what version.

It is the ED6 version I think.

But I am having a hell of time today with the one that was fixed by Nuvo.

I cant make heads or tails. I can fire up the RS232 connection and send the command *Z01PWRON (I think that is the command i dont have the manual in front of me now). And I get back a RS232 response that the zone turns on but the light doesnt come on and I hear no sound.

This was the same problem I had when I sent the unit in. Paul over at Nuvo said he saw an issue with the zone cards for zone 5 and 6 but that he couldnt duplicate my problem.

According to the nuvo guy I spoke to last night it should even matter if I dont have a speaker or a source plugged in. If I send the command to turn zone 1 on I should get that zone to light up.

They seem really nice over there and spent time running through commands with so I find it hard to beilve I am doing something wrong. But I find it equally hard to beilive that after he checked it out none of the zones would play..

For those that have nuvos... in CQC when you set the power to a zone on, do you right away hear the slight click of a relay and the zone light turn on?

Yes. The click is audible for me through a closet door about 10 feet away. When using a touch panel to turn things on, both the light and click are instantaneous.
