ATI dual monitor mode
#1
I have just built a pc using a HIS ATI RADEON HD4850 512MB PCI-E graphics card with an Intel quad core processor, 4 gig of ram and running Vista Premium.
I want to set up dual monitors using the DVI out to a projector @ 1080p 60hz and VGA out to a TV @ 1024x768 and view the one instance of Zoom Player on both displays.
I can get the correct resolutions needed using extended monitor mode but then Zoom Player is only on one display.
If i use the clone mode then i cant get the above resolutions needed.
Then I thought i would compromise and run two instances of Zoom Player in extended mode but then Zoom keeps falling over.
Has anybody successfully done what I want to do or have any suggestions?
DHCP isn’t an issue either.

You won't be able to get Zoom on both monitors unless the resolutions match. I know that's not what you want to hear but them's the way it works.

I haven't actually tried to get two zooms running but I imagine getting it in the RIGHT window would be near impossible. I know there's utilities out there that let you use parameters to decide which screen to show up on. You might be able to get to your destination via that route.

Another option would be to use two separate programs and dual monitors set up NOT in clone mode. IE Zoom on one screen at the correct resolution and TT or another media player on the other screen at the correct resolution.
Brian - a long time user that rarely messes with the system now
Other systems used:
SageTV w/ cablecard tuner & multiple extenders for viewing
BlueIris and IP cameras for CCTV
Incredible PBX for home phone

I did try running two Zooms on different ports but Zoom its self kept freezing up for some reason.
The Zoom + TT would be the way to go if i couldnt run a clone display set up.
I came across this in my stubborn attempt to get what i want http://www.highway.net.au/parts/converters/4250_1.html
I'll make some inquiries and see how i go.
Thanks for the replies fellas.

Check the zoom player forums. There are a few questions over there on multiple instances and resolution.
You would probably have more luck there in getting an answer.

I assume you have done this

Sorry for the late reply Mick.
Thanks for that link.
After playing around with settings i cant get it to even play a BR movie back on a single monitor so two monitors are on hold till i get it sorted.
