ZeeVee - A potential method of deploying CQC
#1
There is a new CE device call the ZeeVee that will do QAM encoding of a video source and locally 'broadcast' it on your cable system on an unused channel. It can then be received as any other QAM signal.

So I am thinking that it would be pretty neat to have a 10' interface that you could get to from any TV in the house. You'd need an RF remote like the RTi one that CQC supports and you'd have to be cooperative about using the interface, but in reality, the number of times simultaneous user would occur is pretty small.

One of our IP's is going to try this as soon as his pre-order is fulfilled.

Pretty neat idea. But $499 retail is a little steep IMHO. Perhaps the final price will be lower. With all the media boxes now going for around $200, I'd like to see this in that price range.
Brian - a long time user that rarely messes with the system now
Other systems used:
SageTV w/ cablecard tuner & multiple extenders for viewing
BlueIris and IP cameras for CCTV
Incredible PBX for home phone
