I am having trouble with this utility.

I have 7zip installed (latest version) and when I run the backup vbs, it wants to back up all of c drive (WHS MS).

So I tried it on a VM (XP) to make sure it was not a WHS issue and ran it from a USB key and it started archiving the contents of the USB key.

SO it would appear that 7zip is not getting the correct path to archive and is just zipping up the contents of the dirive that it is running from.

Has 7zip changed its API/command line?

It's been working fine for me on both Win7 and XP. Did you try to manually run the line from the file? If you run this by itself it should create a directory called %BackupPath_% in whatever directory you launch it from...

Code:
start /w c:\"Program Files"\7-Zip\7z a -tzip "%BackupPath_%\CQCBackup_%DatetYYYY%%DatetMM%%DatetDD%_%DatetHH%%DatetMI%%DatetSS%.zip" c:\"Program Files"\CQC\*

If I had to guess your %BackupPath_% variable is messed up, since that is the only part you normally change. It needs to be in quotes if it has spaces in it (i.e. Set BackupPath_="V:\CQCServer\CQC").

I have one suggestion for this script. I've been running this for a VERY long time and when the hard drive on my master server died, the backup saved me much stress. The only problem is that it would be nice to be able to specify multiple directories for backup (i.e. CQC Repository directory). I've lost my 777 full of data. I never really thought of it until now.

Just a thought.

Thanks again!

That's what I did. I modified it to back up a second path that I put all my Repos in. You just have to set the variable RepoPath.
