Default Web Server Port
#1
What's the default web server port? I'm trying to see if it is working? Is it 13000 something or other?

How would I go about connecting to it?

Thanks,

Greg

The web server is always port 80 unless you change it. That's the default HTTP port. If it's on a machine called Foobar, you'd do:

http://foobar/whatever.html

Put a file called whatever.html in the CQCData\HTMLRoot directory on the machine where the web server is running. The URL above would resolve to that file. Or you can just type in the above and you should get back an error page from the server.

If I type:

http://htpc/anything.html

I get a 404 file not found error. I actually put an index.html in the CQC\HTMLRoot directory as well as the secure directory & the directories with in it.

when typing http://htpc/index.html i still get a 404 error

However if i type:

http://htpc/

I get an under construction error. So it seems like it is working to some degree.

It appears that cqc is using 0.0.0.0 as my ip address for my MS. is that possible. I know that htpc resolves to 192.168.0.206 which is the ip for that pc.

I ran the log server and selected API failed

Bind operation failed. Tried to bind to 0.0.0.0:80

Timed out waiting for operation to complete on thread CQCWSServerListener

Under status I get:

An error occured while stopping the web server listener thread

CQC Web Server Exiting normally

Parsing Command Line Parameters Failed

Starting listener thread. End Point = 0.0.0.0:13514, MaxClients=64

0.0.0.0 is a server side listening address. Anyway, the problem is that someone else has the port open or it's being blocked by something.

Bind operation failed. Tried to bind to: 0.0.0.0:80
The target was busy

So that's the problem. So you have two choices. Either find out what's using it or blocking it and make it go away, or run the installer again and give the CQC web server some other port. But, you'll have to indicate that port when access the server from a browser.

I get an under construction error. So it seems like it is working to some degree.

Our web server doesn't put out such a page, which is another good hint that someone else has port 80.

I tried to reinstall & I get the message that IP port cannot be opened. It must be in use...

Any way to find out what might be using it?

Also during install I get something is locking the bin directory. I stopped the cqc service and shut down running apps.

Did you change the port 80 to something else? If you left it at 80, then we know something else already is using that port. Change it to like 8080, which is a commonly used alternate HTTP port. Do you have Apache or IIS running on that machine?

Do you have any of the GUI apps running, the app control server or anything like that? Do you have any command windows open that might have the CQC directory as their current directory?

If you can't figure it out, stop the service, set it to manual, and reboot, then run the installer. If it still says that, then something is auto-starting and accessing something in the CQC directory.
