FS: Viewsonic V150 Airpanel
#1
I have a Viewsonic V150 with a docking station for sale. It is in excellent condition and includes the power supply and monitor cable.

I no longer have the manual, CD, or wireless network card, but the manual and Smart Display software is all available for download on either Viewsonic's or Microsoft's websites.

The ViewSonic Airpanel V150 is a 15" wireless touch-screen LCD monitor that lets you use your computer from anywhere in your home. Using Microsoft's Smart Display technology, you can remotely access all the data on your Windows XP or Vista PC using your wireless network. It's truly portable, weighing around six pounds. When in the docking station the V150 is a LCD monitor for your PC. When removed it becomes a wireless "Terminal Server" client to any Windows (2000 or higher) PC. It has an integrated mouse with buttons or you may use the included stylus for mouse control. There is an on-screen keyboard or USB port for and external mouse/keyboard.

The V150 includes a 400 MHz Intel XScale processor and runs Microsoft Windows CE for Smart Displays operating system. Memory is 64 MB ROM and 128 MB SDRAM. The long-life lithium-ion battery lasts up to five hours. The display runs at 1024 x 768 resolution. The battery charges when connected to the docking station and the docking station lets you attach keyboards or a mouse for added input functionality.

Pics available upon request!

I'm asking $250 obo, inclusive of shipping and PayPal fees.

Thanks,
Ken

Is this not one of the ones that has wireless built in? I'm confused why you would need a wireless network card.

These originally came with a wireless network antena that connected to a computer via a USB port, thus making your own little wireless touchscreen. This all came out prior to the advent of the current wireless HUB technology. I actually still have the little mini wireless device someplace.

Does the touchscreen work when docked or was that only disabled when the VGA cable was connected?

Only when the VGA cable is disconnected....Actually, the touch screen portion only works when in wireless mode, rather local mode in the dock with the VGA connected.

I have three of these, all wall mounted. I do not use the docks, and have the power directly plugged into the side of the unit. I also have a 110 that I use for walking around the house and in the yard.

(Sorry kwoodrow for answering the questions for you...feel free to correct accordingly...)
Thanks,

Gotcha, but they still will connect to a wireless network, right?

Dave, if anything you confused me more. Not hard to do, though.

My 110 works in the dock as a touchscreen. Easy way to keep it charged without fooling with a power connection when going from portable to table.

My recollection was the 115 wouldn't work as a touchscreen when used as a wired monitor but couldn't recall if if the touchscreen worked when docked but connected via wireless. Hence the question.

We are saying the same thing - if the VGA cable is connected to anything with signal, and the 110 or 150 unit is in the dock, and the power cord is plugged into the dock, the touchscreen does not work.

If any of the above three items are negative, then the touchscreen works.

IE; you can connect the VGA, Dock the unit, and power the unit by plugging the supply directly into the side of the screen rather than the base, and the touchscreen works in RPC mode.

I do this with one of my 150's. When I plug the cord into the dock, I see my computer screen; when I plug the power into the screen directly, I connect to my CQC server via RPC and use the touch screen.

Clear as mud??

Yes - as long as you are in RPC mode (see my previous post)
