Is 4s lag normal for CQC controlling CQS Audio player?

I went back and changed to use DirectShow instead of iTunes and the delay is definitely cut down. I can now get to "one thousand one" and the next song stars.

The iTunes engine is generally slower, though there's nothing in our system that's causing a 4 second delay.
