Anyone installed a master server on a Via mini-itx pc?
#1
Anyone installed one? I'd be looking to run a few drivers off it as well as a few zones of audio.

I used to use one for that, plus one local zone of audio playback.

Jonathan showed his here, not used for master server but there was some talk later in the thread about how JKMonroe went down that route for his server.

Yeh, my Mini-ITX is now running the master server just fine although I'm going to try putting it on the HP EX470 MediaSmart Windows Home Server box when I upgrade it soon from 512MB to 2GB (I have the memory just need the time to take it apart) and see how that works :-)

Anyone find any wall-mountable mini-ITX cases?

mitxpc.com has some pre-assembled solutions using some of their cases here: http://www.mitxpc.com/products.asp?cat=63 , looks like they only want ~$10 upcharge for assembly & testing. But, there's not much in the way of case options.

I could just drill a hole in the bottom of the case and bolt it to a metal strap, which I then bolt to the wall for easy mount/dismount, but wondering if there's anything cleaner.

2 sided sticky velcro. The stuff can hold a surprising amount of weight. You certainly would not need to cover the bottom with it to secure it to the wall. Probably one strip around all 4 edges would provide plenty of holding power.

SageTV w/ cablecard tuner & multiple extenders for viewing
BlueIris and IP cameras for CCTV
Incredible PBX for home phone

Logic Supply has quite a few, here is one:

I've used velcro to mount these cases to the wall and have not had any problems for over a year! I use the 2 inch wide stuff from HomeDepot, two strips for each case. Next time I will probably use just one strip as quite difficult to remove from the wall when necessary.

I'd also consider this case if you have no need for optical drive:
