Good non-iTunes sw to manage iPod?
#1
Is anyone using anything other than iTunes to manage their iPod? I really dislike the iTunes interface, it's not easy to automatically remove duplicates, and it's generally not customizable. As I do NOT buy iStore songs as a rule, DRM isn't an issue. All I need is something that will monitor the CQC ripped CD folders and add anything i add there.

Since I used to use JRMC for my non-iPod mp3 library pre-CQC, i was going to see if it was any good with iPod's, but any experience or suggestions would be great.

Which iPod do you have? I use/d JRMC to manage my old mini with great success.

The latest generation however, including my currect Touch, is no longer supported by JRMC (or any 3rd part software that I know of).

Thx for the reply. I've just got an older 60GB video one, perhaps JRMC will work.

I'll second the vote for Anapod. We have 3 iPods in the house and I can't stand having to use iTunes to "manage" my music on Windows. I searched around last year and really didn't see anything that came close. Anapod works great treating the iPod as a removable device that can be seen in the Windows file browser. Just drag and drop stuff to it. I have it working with an old iPod mini and two iPod Videos.

I have seen a few snafus (sometimes) when you use Anapod and make a lot of changes then one of the kids will later dock it on their iMacs and resync iTunes. iTunes tends to get confused since it didn't make the changes.

Personally I prefer to use an 8GB Sansa MP3 player when I exercise and a 30GB Zune when I travel.
