Dean, any shot of sorting iTunes repository by first name and omitting the word "The" if it preceeds the first name? I really hate to ask with all that you do, but this would make the repository sort perfectly (I presume).

I'm happy to change it if that's what everyone wants. But it will require more than just skipping The or A. It'll have to involve some list of skippable words that is user extensible, because we could never have a list that would be comprehensive for all languages, and that means an extensible mechanism that is not language specific because it has to allow you to enter prefixes in any language.

So it's not going to be totally trivial. I could at least, as a first approximation, hard code a set of skippable words in the languages most likely for our customers.

Thanks! Add me to the list of wanting that feature, with "The" as one of the primary skippable words. I got to assume that a few of the other posters in this thread will add support of the feature, based on their prior posts!

Thanks again for the iTunes repository. I actually bought a $1,200 new PC from Dell just to use this feature in my bedroom. Ill be configuring it and wiring it up this weekend.

I hope you have better luck then we have at my workplace with Dell.... We had to order 2 motherboards for every Dell computer when the first ones died... 400 motherboards just to make sure the network was always up.

wow. All I got was an Optiplex 745 with a dual DVI out and digital sound card for about $1,200, 2 gig mem, etc. Nothing major. Ill use it to drive a USB-UIRT for the cable box and non-serial tuner, perhaps a serial device (likely the panel Ill get to replace the CRT TV), output some iTunes, and Ill probably get a RF keyboard / mouse if I get the urge to browse a bit from bed. Its about time since the other 2 rooms of media are CQC controled and the bedroom is not.
