There wouldn't be any development costs. The key is having folks that can commit to testing out a driver though. If it gets posted an nobody does anything with it it will just kind of fade away. It is better to attack them when they are fresh.
It's the early bird that catches the worm, but it's the second mouse that gets the cheese...

Understood, and I'll be in a position to help test/debug this shortly. I take it you're doing on the work on this? If so, how far along is the development?

No work to date other than getting familiar with the protocol. Putting together the basics for a driver like this doesn't take long (provided I don't make too many dumb mistakes). Having remote access to the device can speed up development time greatly.
