WTB : Aprilair 8870 + 8061 + 8052 + 8811

Turns out my RCS will not work with my heatpump setup. Looking to get a 8870 + the 8061 TT Sensor Module + a 8053 surface mount temp sensor. Anyone have any of the above that they will not be using?

Also interested in the 8811 protocol adapter if anyone has that too.

They're a hot commodity. I doubt you'll find them around here. IVB mentioned that he was considering replacing his temp sensors with the VK011 board.

Since I'm in the process of building a house, and maybe I can get the HVAC guy to use an aprilaire controller instead of his standard one....how would I know if aprilaire is compatible with my heatpump?

Yup, I will be. Its installed right now and I won't be selling it until I get the 8870 replacement installed. Interested in the RCS? Its the TR-40 unit. PM me with an offer if you're interested.

I e-mailed Aprilaire tech support and had a number of exchanges with Steve there. They've been great and responded with answers to my functional questions as well as wiring questions. Steve called out all the parts I needed as well as suggested that I have my installer call their 800 number if he has any questions at wiring time. Great support from Aprilaire.

The RCS will work with a heatpump, but will not work for a dual-fuel system. In areas where the outdoor temp gets below a certain temp (40 degrees or so) the heat pump cannot heat the house and you need an aux heat source. The RCS cannot handle this setup, but the Aprilaire can.
