Drivers in Progress Discussion
#11
I am still looking over the protocol but I will be working on a driver for the Kenwood 400 disc mega DVD changer DV-5900M. It will need to be in CML so It may take me a while.

Thanks for the info Mick..I have XBMC also but rarely play any Xbox games I just use Mame(http://www.mame.net) to play some old games from when the old lady and I were younger.

*I'm interested in this plugin one day when you get it built...XBMC plays alot of files types very well :-)

It's great to see so many people using CQC that have the skills to create drivers!

I'm working on:

- Optoma HD72 projector (based on jpants' H79 driver)
- Denon 4806 receiver (based on the system 3806 driver)
- Pixel Magic Crystalio II (though I think mine has a defective serial port Sad

First two seem to work, but I'm stil a CQC newbie - I need to have a slightly more serious interface in place before I'm happy they really work. I also want to do a version of the 4806 one that will work via the 4806's ethernet port.

I will also at some point work on something to drive a gizmo I have doing my sprinklers. Made by Elexol, it's called an EtherIO24 - basically 24 I/O lines on a chip with an IP stack. Quite cool. I have a basic perl script driving it from cron on a unix machine at the moment, but I want something a bit cleverer to do this, and CQC seems to be the thing for this.

Cheers,
Chris.

znelbok Wrote:an xbox running XBMC (XBOX media center) has a web interface that allows control of the box remotely (as opposed to the IR remote). It will display the media accessible by the xbox without the need for the CQC repository as well as control over transport functions etc.

The API was actually written to allow scraping as the retun messages are very simple text strings.

I personally use the xbox as a media center only. It has never had a game played on it.

Mick

If I understand you correctly, then that would be fantastic. I have my 50" Plasma connected to an Xbox w/ XBMC and I really didn't want to have to install another HTPC for media control for the plasma. Now, if you could find a way to get the Xbox to use its USB port along with a USB-Serial adapter to actually control the Plasma...Then I'd be in hog heaven Wink

I've just written my first two-way PDL driver (see link the post with it) for my InFocus IN76 projector. It provides bi-directional power status, source control, aspect ratio, lamp hours, high power mode and menu navigation although many other functions could be added if anyone wants them. It should work fine for the IN74 too.

The InFocus IN74/IN76 requires a null modem adapter cable or adapter.

That's, eh, not bad, considering you just installed CQC on (Friday? 7 days ago?). That's gotta be a record.

I frankly find this amazing!! That's 27 drivers under some sort of development for a system that just recently topped the century mark!

Next to the support and the incredible help from many different people on this forum and the rock solid foundation that Dean has developed for this package this kind of expansion is nothing short of amazing! I feel better every day that this is obviously the right choice for HA software!!

Thanks for putting this list together Vivek!

I realy did not know that there where this many drivers under development either. Sure I can not use most of them now but it is great to know they are going to be there when needed and FREE unlike other nameless products. :-D

IVB don't forget the updated Russound RNet Driver and an Intergra DVD all models driver that Mark and I are working on.

Also now that Dean has ODBC ability in Drivers later when I have time I will be looking at converting my Panasonic KX-TA SMDR Gateway into a Driver instead.

yeah, i didn't think there were this many, but i kept seeing all these "i'm going to work on such and such a driver" type posts. Figured a central list of what folks are working on would be good, so there's no duplicative work.

BTW, it's now up to 30.
