Not sure if this would be of interest to anyone, but I saw these thinclients on sale for $24.00 from Surplus Computers. I've bought from them before and I get their weekly e-mails and this caught my eye.

I found a brochure on it here:

It supports RDP, so I am going to pick one up and see if I can run my kitchen touchscreen with it.
I just thought I'd throw it out here - hopefully it can help someone else too.

Other systems used:
SageTV w/ cablecard tuner & multiple extenders for viewing
BlueIris and IP cameras for CCTV
Incredible PBX for home phone

Picked one up today as well. I was originally going to use CAT5e extenders, but if I can manage to get this working it is a much cheaper and better solution.

ELO has windows CE 4.2 touchscreen drivers, so I hope it won't be a problem trying to get them onto the device.
That is real interesting. I think I will pick one up. If the touch screen will work, it is a pretty cheap way to get things connected.

Just checking to see if anyone has received their thinclients and used them in a touchscreen environment. Thanks.

Mine is still on order, and has yet to arrive. I am hoping it shows up this week, so I can spend sometime with it on the weekend.

Mine is coming UPS and has a expected delivery date for tomorrow (Thursday 6-14). I'm not sure we'll be able to get it working with the touch screens due to the driver issue (how do you load a driver on a thin client?). But even if it doesn't work out for the touch screen, it will work perfectly as a RDP access point for the Den. I'm use to having a computer in the den, but just moved it to the equipment closet where it is acting as my CQC server. So having a thin client in the den will allow me to work on my CQC stuff and surf the internet without having to go down to the office (and the SLOW computer).
I'll post an update when I get it.

Not quite sure how windows CE works, but there are ELO touchscreen drivers for windows ce. I bought the planar touchscreen, so as long as there is a way to get the drivers loaded onto the little machine, I should be fine.
