Still confused HVAC, howto
#1
ok,

I need to control 4 water valves for Hot water Central Heating, and also on/off for my heat recovery system,

this is for a new build

is the only way i can control this stuff via an elk ? and if so what zone controller works best ?

I'm reading loads of stuff over on Cocoontech, but I don't see really how this all goes together ?

You don't have any valves yet? I'd suggest using valves that are controlled by a normal thermostat and then consider the AprilAire or one of the controllable thermostats. From there the Elk can control these but it is more to change settings instead of actually turning the heat/ac on/off.

How about this ?

use elk temperature probes to trigger a relay to control my zone controller for the central heating and to switch the heat recovery system...

is this possible, and can some basic logic be done on the elk to do this ?
