Dang. Stormy already bid on the one that has hidef capabilities and is a master, the other one is audio/video only [ie ZPR68 level], and is actually a slave unit so it needs a master.
BTW, the autopatch guy got a kick out of me calling - said i'm the 3rd guy to call him in <24 hours on these 2 units.

Here's the skinny on the last 2 units.
Both enclosures were purchased in 1997. The information you requested is listed below.
4YDMA11978315
This enclosure is a HV router from a 4 cage system, it is configured as enclosure 3.
Its description is as follows 4YDM 08x12 Hi-Headroom H&V Sync Component Matrix.
Per the description it is a H and V enclosure, it can also be used for composite video.
If used as a stand alone enclosure it will require a new system PLD and configuration file.
4YDMA10978176
This enclosure is a R and G router from a 3 cage system, it is configured as enclosure 1.
Its description is as follows 4YDM 12x12 Ultra-Wideband (200 MHz) RG Video
Per the description it is a R and G 200MHz enclosure.
It can be configured as a stand alone enclosure or connected to the enclosure above with a new configuration file.
Please let me know if you require any additional information.

The slave is not a problem... I called tech support they gave me the info for the local rep... I begged a little;-) and the local rep sent me the chip for the master. I then called up tech support and one of the guys made me a config file and sent it to me.. while we were on the phone he instructed me how to upload it and made sure I was up and running through Hyperterminal.

lol - I emailed AutoPatch to get the info and he chuckled in his email as well. I'm very impressed with the quality of support they've offered and I haven't even purchased any of their products yet! They're building a good relationship with me.
Yes, I'm bidding on the "nicer" of the two and will probably hold out for another slave. I'm beginning to "get it" when it comes to why IVB digs AutoPatch. It isn't just the price, it is excellent gear with more flexibility for those of us who don't mind doing a little extra work to configure our systems.
Let me see If I understand how this works... although the switchers can be stacked and connected, you can't take an source input on the master and pipe it to an output on a slave right? What I should be looking to do is have one switcher do all video (say the one I'm bidding on now) and then have another slave do all the audio.
While I'd guess that AutoPatch doesn't really mind fielding the same question multiple times. I guess whoever gets info first could perhaps post it here?

I am not sure about that one... I would like to think that you could send the input from one to a slave but I am def not sure about that. If not then you would send maybe your HD and digital to one and your analog audio and video to the slave. This way when you send a command it would switch all if you wanted to or just the HD and digital audio.

we really should coordinate our bidding. I don't want to for the price up for anyone around here.. yet I want one of these nice HD units as well!
and can everyone post the responses they get back from tech support? seems a bit easier to check here than firing off a million separate emails every week

I plan on bidding on the unit with serial number 4YDMA10978176. I think this is the one that will finally meet my needs.

or go from an amp to the autopatch and then directly to the speakers?
The first is correct. I haven't tried it yet, but one of these should make it easier:

how would that work? I'd have to convert from an RCA to BNC and then attach it to the autopatch?

you can get adapters that have BNC on one end and RCA on the other ... they are around $1.... I went another route and made cusom cables with BNC on one end and RCA on the other. The connectors were under $20 for 10 RCA connectors and under $20 for 5 BNC connectors. The cable ran Vivek and I $299 for 250'. It takes a couple of minutes to make a cable. No tools required except for a wire cutter and a small flat head screwdriver :-)
