USB-UIRT Question
#11
It would require a modification of the UIRT driver. Currently the call the driver makes to open the UIRT doesn't take any parameters. So the driver has no control over which one gets opened. I assume the new driver must take some sort of 1, 2, etc... type of indicator or something like that. That would also require a driver install panel for the UIRT to select which one.

I don't know if I'll have a chance to do this one for the next release or not.

Mike, any reason you can't just use an IR repeater and the UIRT muli-zone support? The only part that might be a show stopper is if the UIRT won't receive on the zone output. I can't remember if it does or not. Though if it didn't and you needed the receive capability you could just stick an IR transparent emitter on the front of the UIRT from the second zone.

Hmmm...I'm not sure I know what you mean.

I have IR sensors through the house. What I would like is to use a single remote and have two zones.

Is there another computer anywhere that you could hook the 2nd USB-UIRT up to? The current limitation is one USB-UIRT per computer, not per CQC system. So if you have another computer, just hook it up to that and load up the CQC service on that. Even a small low power thin client would work for something like that.
Brian - a long time user that rarely messes with the system now
Other systems used:
SageTV w/ cablecard tuner & multiple extenders for viewing
BlueIris and IP cameras for CCTV
Incredible PBX for home phone

Speaker Craft, Xantech etc make IR systems that can have multiple receivers in different zones that can fire all the emitters. However, if it's all going back to one UIRT you'd have to have the remote send different commands for each zone if you needed the commands separate. IE change the volume in the bedroom vs living room. Otherwise if the commands don't have to be separate then no issue.

Only way I know to handle having the zones isolated is what Brian already suggested.
