ISY to Polisy or Eisy?
#1
With the ISY994i being officially discontinued I'm now looking to upgrade to either their Polisy or new Eisy system.

Does anyone know if the current CQC driver for ISY will work with either of these other units from UDI?

Good question, as I have the ISY-994i as well.   I guess this is what to expect with almost everything we have - I had to upgrade from ISY-99i to ISY-994i due to compatibility issues, and I am sure this will happen as well with the 994.  I am good with what I have, but if they cut off the Echo integration, then I will probably have to do something else, because I use that every day.

The good news is its a CML driver, so we may have an easier ability to modify if there is a need.

I jumped into the deep end and preordered an Eisy which I received over Christmas. I have a fully functioning Isy994 setup that I would like to transition over but was waiting to see a little more real world feedback on any startup bugs before I do. If I get some time this weekend I’ll set up the Eisy on the bench with a back up PLM and see if CQC will connect.

Ok, so I spent enough time to get Eisy set up with both my wired and wireless networks and updated to the latest release. Connected an old appliance link to make sure it was operational then tried to connect to CQC, it wouldn’t connect using the latest ISY driver. Ran out of time and didn’t even get a chance to run the logs to see what was happening. Will try again later this week.

If you look over on the HomeSeer Forum, you'll see that the ISYInsteon plugin doesn't work with EISY or Polisy.  The author is (maybe has) made the modifications for it to work.  doesn't sound like they were too difficult.

If its just a port change to access, that shouldn't be too difficult, and may not even need to be changed in the driver.  The HomeSeer author didn't mention what he did for his updated fix.  You may want to try putting http://[ISY IP Address]:8080/desc in the configuration to see if that connects.

The author of the HomeSeer plugin contacted UDI to find the changes needed. Might see if they would respond.
