New to driver development - where to start?
#1
I have a few things I'm trying to accomplish on my setup and willing to put in the effort to try and learn enough to be dangerous on driver development.  Before investing a bunch of time, is there still enough support on here to help answer what will probably be some pretty basic questions to start?  Below is a list of what I need to do:

1.  JVC projector is disconnecting from the driver.  (troubleshoot and resolve driver issue).
2.  Add room support for Hue Lighting driver.
3.  Add driver for SNMP control of CyperPower PDU to reduce overall power usage of rack.  Generic driver may already exist?

Any advice before setting out on this?  Recommended examples of basic code to modify?

I saw there was a generic SNMP driver that I was able to use for item 3.  Check that one off the list.

I came to CQC because of lack of continued (specific) driver support in my prior software.  I found a supported package here, but had to dive into the driver to fix a problem...I learned a lot.

1. Read the documentation about modifying drivers....I didn't and got confused about which was stock vs my modified driver
2.  Learn how to use the debugger & get basic functionality (Step, breakpoints, values, etc)
3. Find a code editor that works for you
4.  Ask Questions.  I got a lot of good advice when I asked specific questions..
