RTI XP6 Issues
#1
Having issues with my RTI XP-6, especially if/reboot I reboot my CQC machine. The driver will show as loaded and fine, but the remotes will not respond. The only thing that resolves the issue is reconfiguring the driver. No errors in log file. This thing seems particularly sensitive for whatever reason.  Literally nothing changes on the hardware side.

Anyone else experience this?

That's a serial connection with no control lines involved. It shouldn't even be aware that the driver cycled. What kind of physical serial port hardware are you using?

From Global Cache support:

Quote:The Serial overflow indicates that the unit's serial buffer has overflowed. This normally will not happen as network speeds are much faster than the maximum serial baud rate (this is especially true when using a low baud rate like 9600) so this usually indicates either a network problem or the control software is rejecting data from the device.

When the unit is exhibiting the issue are you able to otherwise communicate with the unit (e.g. load the configuration pages)?

Do you have some sort of circular logic loop in events or something that would cause it to be blasting out commands? Also, all of the trigger type drivers, if in verbose mode, will log each event that they queue up, so if it was blasting away somehow, that should be obvious in the logs.

Dean, as mentioned in my post, this happens after a reboot or otherwise disconnecting the XP-6. Mark mentioned having the same issues before moving to a Moxa serial server and never having issues again.
