Windows 10 Reboot/Update Nag Screen
#1
Anyone here running on Windows 10? I've made changes to the group policies for Windows Updates on my Windows 10 machine running CQC, however, I keep getting nagged to install and reboot.

Is there any way to kill this thing completely or should I upgrade to a server OS?

I think the server OS is the only way to fully stop the updates, or at least that's what I've read. There may be some tricky backdoor way for the desktop OS, but I've not heard of it so far.

I am not sure this will work in Windows 10, but I run a Windows 7 Embedded TouchScreen, and I disable the Windows Update Service, and I have no issues once that is done.  Might be worth a try.

Win10 LTSC is apparently the way to go for this sort of thing. But the downside is that I think it is a corporate release. Not sure so get you google on and you should be able to verify.

With Win10 Pro you can turn off the updates. It's a hack but I've set mine do delayed indefinitely and only update after I know there are no issues for a period of time (with the update itself.)

I am running Pro. Can you provide what you did to get this to work? I honestly see no reason whatsoever to ever update and air gapped system.

I edited the group policy for updates.  Here is a recent article How to Turn Off Automatic Updates on Windows 10, can't find the one I used back when...

I think M$ closed the GPE option. On older versions of W10 Pro you could set updates back to the way W7 was.
