I can't seem to browse or get to any posts older than a few months old. I can change the drop down to say "show from beginning" and I get a nice long list of pages but then if I select one I get the page two and none of the historical posts.
Is this a member restriction or a forum issue?

It's probably due to the changeover that happened a bit back. We were forced to move to a new data center, and hence to a new server and none of our stuff could come along. So we took that opportunity to upgrade everything. The movement forward of the forum stuff wasn't as smooth as one would hope (it's never smooth as one would hope.) There were some quirks and that may be one of them.

This happens for me also. So is everything for us truly gone forever is there another way to go back?

I'm pretty sure it's there in the database, given that the size hasn't really changed. Just something with the database and forum interactions, or something that happened during the export/import process when the data was moved. The odds of me figuring that out are probably not good. I hate PHP/SQL based fora. I've used a few of them over time, and I've really hated them all. Upgrading is an exercise in fear management pretty much. It probably would have been reasonably fixable back at the start when we moved over, had I realized it had happened. Though I was struggling and taking way too long as it was. But now, with all the new content committed, I'm guessing it would be difficult.

I am not having any issues searching - Just did a quick search for "RCS Driver" and I received 2 pages of data, the last being 11-06-2006, 03:05 PM.
I am accessing the forum site using Google.

And you were able to click on the links and to view the posts or did you receive the "404 Not Found"?

I get plenty of search results searching through google... (cache) but when I try them I get the 404 Not Found because the forum can't load them.

Mine comes up fine. It does take longer than before while gathering the search results but i do get a 2 page list, so not sure why mine would work and yours wouldn't. I did a search on "RCS Driver", went to page 2, and selected the first post dated "11-06-2006" and have access to the information, files, etc.

I can search in the forum and view stuff. I can't browse through thread listings though. If I go to a forum and select "from the beginning" I get a dozen pages but nothing past page 2 will show. I click anything else and I get page 2.
Yeah I'm new to CQC so I wanted to browse around and see what's already been covered and discussed..... sadly I can't.

Now I see what your talking about, and I have noticed that as well. The user systems section was always helpful back in the past, but now it seems to fall off from view after a few months. There was always a ton of interesting interfaces that you could view there, and now the only way to get to them is to perform a search.
As an alternative, you can use the Search Button at the top, then select the Forum Subsection you wish to search, and get to them that way. Don't add any words to the Search Topic after selecting the forum you wish to view, and you will get all the listings available chronologically.
