Denon x3600H won't connect

Hope this is a simple and obvious problem that I am missing.  I recently purchased a Denon x3600H to replace my aging Denon AVR987.  I can not get it to connect with any Denon device driver I try.  I have tried both serial and IP, and multiple versions.  My old Denon still connects fine over serial, but is an older version 1 driver .  The new x3600H connects fine with Denon's android app and directly through a browser.  I made sure it is not in standby, and that the stay awake option is properly selected.
 
Any ideas?

I'd suggest putting the driver in verbose mode and posting log results here.

The driver you are using expects there to be three zones. Does your guy have three zones?

No, it only has 2 zones.  Does one of the other existing Denon drivers have only 2 zones I can try?

Doesn't look like it, at least for more recent ones. However, I put in the time a while back to create a generic Denon A/V driver that only requires a little extra code for any given model. Let me see if I can find some info on that one. It may be just a very simple tweak of the X3200.

I couldn't find anything for that model. Denon is so retarded about this stuff. Sometimes it's just there on the web site with the download for that model, and sometimes it's like some state secret. Without that info we can't really create a driver that's guaranteed to have the right stuff. You could always contact whoever you bought it from and try to get them to apply some leverage and get the IP protocol docs for that model.

Ok, thanks. I was able to get one of the older V1 drivers to connect. I get tons of errors, but I think I should be able to at least control volume and power. Will play with it some more.

Just an update.  I tried the Marantz SR5011 with the Denon since they are both owned by the same company.  So far so good, everything working.
