I am seeing Spotify everywhere these days. It is integrated into almost every head unit with a display, and almost every other device that creates a sound has Spotify.
They [Spotify] have an API and I guess this is to Dean directly, can a Spotify Client be done for CQC. It would definitely fit nicely in with the whole music/multimedia aspect of CQC.
May be a good selling point as well.

Have you read the terms of use document? It's pretty gnarly. It's funny how when it's their stuff, you have no rights any longer than what they say you do and you have no rights to any IP of theirs. But, when it's your stuff, you give them unlimited, unrevocable, etc... rights.
Anyhoo, I'm not sure how it would work with an automation system like CQC. This is always the problem. They have no concept of such things, as is obvious from the terms of use. They are about a store of prebuilt apps that follow specific branding and usage guidelines, whereas that's not the case with CQC. And of course they probably aren't going to want each individual person getting a separate license. they want to license to application developers. But we can't do that without setting up a cloud based service that hides our interactions with them, else our license info would immediately be compromised.
It could be explored, but given how many of these things always come out the same, where they just have no idea how to react to a product like ours and aren't willing to bend enough to make it work without us having to create our own online service, I'm guessing this will be the same.
