And some long term feedback - this driver has been running great - it is rock solid and has given me no issues at all with anything I am using (about 12 devices now)

Can you share some samples and information on the config (xml settings)?  I'm interested in how to do the JSON parsing.  Also how do you setup Events for actions against the second command topic?  I'm learning Smile

How are you working around the lack of dual topics?  Do you create two field entries mapping to the status and set topics?

I think the answer is yes.

I have a field that is the status of the device (relay) and a second field that is the command field. This one [obviously] sends the message to the device to do something and then the status field reports the its current state. This also gets the state on connection so that the driver does not sit with ????? as the state until it gets updated.

that's what I figured you were doing but I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something obvious.  So far I've setup my GPS tracking with MQTT but that's only sensor true/false after processing currently.  I need to get my PWS's integrated and I think MQTT will be the easiest for that.  Then I'm going to explore some devices that will need commands.
